Cadet pilot program questions
Hi everybody,
I have some general cadet pilot program questions that I would like to post:
1. Is the whole process of initial testing/medicals/interviews all being held in Hk only? (Since I live in Canada, going back & forth will cost a lot, and from reading previous threads, I know the process can be quite long.)
2. Are the interviews conducted in English? or can you do it in cantonese if you prefer? Or both?
3. Since the interviews will ask technical questions, would CX send any information package or booklets for me to study from? (or would they just let you know what is expected to know, and you study from your own resources?)
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and replying this post!!! If you need me to elaborate more, plz let me know.
Happy New Year
Cheers,
Banimaru

Well, I can try to answer some of your questions. Yes the WHOLE process takes place in HK only.
I assume the interviews will be held in English only, as english is a 'must'. Correct me if i am wrong pls.
Cathay will send you a pack of information when you sucessfully passed the first interview and inital tests.
It will be useful to have a pack of information send by Cathay, but, if you are really into aviation and a truely wannabe, wouldn't you know something already?

what the above mentioned is true and valuable but here''s something i would like to add on so that it will be more clear to you.
As for the language criteria, it is held in English. Overall , English is the medium language in aviation, so its is essential to CX whether your English is up to standard. (that's how they proof your fluency anyways)
As for the package.. u will only recieve it if u pass the stage one interview which consist of *for oversea applicants only* many different tests, a presentation (topic shall be given prior to the interview- assuming 3 to 4 weeks ahead) and a panel interview. (all in ONE DAY) It is done to save the applicants their valua ble time since their stay in HKG is short and brief.
PM only if u want to know more..
PS: btw, r u from Canada? which province? give me a pm for more info
Peace!

Does anybody know how one will be notified when one being short-listed for first interview, when it's in the case of overseas? Would it likely be by phone or email or by post?
Been almost a couple of months since I dropped in my application and still havent heard anything yet, just feeling a little bit paranoid...
thanks!
