Directions

i hope this isn't a really silly questions but i have not been able to find anything on the net for directions to the cathay pacific city.

I have not been to hong kong in a few years now and i am not very familiar with the new airport and its surrounding area i know the flight crew selection center is near the airport but not actually at the airport or so i was told. It would be really appreciated if someone could possibly give a quick heads up on the best way to get there or it there is a website where i could find directions/addresses in hong kong. i would really hate to turn up late for my interview!!! thanks very much any help is appreciated.

If you are going from airport to cathay city, pls take bus S64. You can ask the bus driver where cathay city is in Cantonese or search for it at every stop. It is quite a big building and i think you can easily figure it out. Or, simply take a cab. It will only cost you about two to three pounds.
If you are going from Central, pls take Airport Express (about 9 pounds) in the MTR station called Hong Kong Station (near Central Station) to the airport and follow the above instruction to cathay city. or take the MTR train (Tung Chung line, also at the Hong Kong Station, about 2 pounds) to the Tung Chung Station and take bus S64 or a cab. A cab will cost you about 3 pounds and the bus will cost you half a pound. Tung Chung Station is further away from cathay city than the aiport, so please beware of the time.
Please assume one hour on the way if you are going from Central and arrive at least 15 mins before the scheduled time.
Hope this help.

You cant miss it...
I flew to HKG just once, but I remember it to be the biggest building as you leave the airport.

The quickest and simplest way that I remember how to do it (also a little more $$ but well worth it considering it's not going to be a stress free day) is:

take the airport express and once you get to the airport then go all the way down to the ground floor of the terminal (ask where the flight crews board the shuttle bus to Cathay Pacific City) and climb aboard that shuttle. It'll say 'crew only' but don't worry they'll let you on. Just act like you do it all the time, but don't worry, if the driver asks questions , which he/she won't, just say you're going in for an interview and it shouldn't be a problem. You'll have to pass secure turnstiles when you get to the City building lobby anyway.

Good luck with everything from one lady aviator to another and I hope things go well for you!

If you drop me a line I'll give you a ride.

But seriously, if you are coming in from the city, and you're unfamiliar with the surroundings, give yourself an hour and a half to get into CX City. Normally it doesn't take that long, but the connections to get to Cathay City, if anything, can be a bit of a runaround if you don't know where to take the buses. If anything, you do not want to be late getting in for your first interview.

From Tung Chung, it'll be the cheapest way to go, but it'll also take the longest. From the airport express (from the Terminal) the crew bus is the best idea. As long as you don't look like a ruffian they'll usually let you on.

Or if in any doubt (and you dont want to be in any doubt for such an important event) go to the taxi rank at the airport and tell the concierge you want to go to Cathay City (Kok Tai in the coloquial). He should find you a BLUE taxi (Lantau Island only) who will take you the short distance for about 35 HD$. (£2.50 ish)

Good luck.

Anything to calm the nerves just that little bit..... so thank you for the help and support! much appreciated. hope you all have a good one!
