As Teeonefixer posted above they had 162 and 327 but both a/c still had the original fuselage (ie pre mod 2010) so were well overdue retirement - esp 162 who's fuselage had never been completely up...

Since the 1980's there have been better Bang...

Since the 1980's there have been better Bang Seats available for Hawks (Mk10 L / Lightweight etc) which did away with the fairly dangerous scissors shackle etc/Top Sear Pin and were 100% gas...

The story I heard was that 'Tercel' was the winning name but that the Management/RAF preferred the simpler 'Hawk' - it does roll off the tongue much easier than tercel :)
