The helicopter division of Balmoral actually split from Balmoral before they went belly up. They are now operating under the name of Acher Aviation and still operate out of Virginia....

Yes, the floats do have to be checked and serviced on a regular basis, however if I remember correctly we always had a spare set for such occasions.

At the moment for commanders they require 2500 total heli hrs with some twin time. CPL with IF rating. They have taken guys with 400 hrs with IF rating for co-pilots. Balmoral is now called Acher...
