Regarding the second officer contracts via Parc:
5 F/Os from SAS are on their way for a 4 month contract as S/O on the 340. I believe they will work for scraps, but it is not hard to find motivation to leave the Scandinavian winter.
These guys are the most senior F/Os in SAS, and have just had their commanders course cancelled(again) as the company are cutting routes and reducing fleet again. Leaving the sinking ship, at least temporarily, is of course tempting as well.

Wish them luck!!

Marris, what planet are you on. If you think these guys will be working for scraps, what do you think we all work for then??? Guess it's what comes out after eating the scraps.....
Command courses being cancelled, cold winters, lets bring out the violins to greet these boys or girls on arrival.
Wish them luck, I think not!!!! We are trying to get meetings to get a better settlement here and these guys are just thumbing their noses at our predicament. This package might be scraps to them, but for the underpaid of MK it's certainly not.

Hi guys!

Please log on to the main rumours and news thread of MK called "MK defies IFALPA" I think it would be important that your contributions go in there!

Its a sad state of affairs gents i agree, but take solice in the fact that MA is not the only company with selfish managment!

The grass isnt always much greener on the other side, but if the grass you are standing on is already brown....then hello greener side!

Air Mauritius info please?!

Hi African PPRuNers ...

I am very keen to have a chat to any past or present Air Mauritius pilots who could give me the low down on what to expect at their interview / psych test / sim assessment?

I'd also be interested in hearing what the company is actually like, is there a good expat community, what sort of lifestyle can you live (on jet FO wages).

Already been reading the other Mauritius thread on rumors & news, ok I get the general idea it isn't industrial relations paradise but I still reckon its better than where I am now.

Any replies via thread or PM would be gratefully received.

Regards

Emma Ritz

Re: Air Mauritius info please?!

You could log onto their website: www.airmauritius.com.

On the site they have the Terms and Conditions of employment (Expat Crew) with salary structures and package details.

Hope this helps you!

Angel JvJ News

Duff Man SA

All I can confirm from one of the A319 Crew I spoke to a while ago, is that JvJ`s SON and WIFE where onboard thier flight bound to JHB, and the son replied to a question to the effect, "are you going to SA for a bit of a break?"........to which the reply was...."we are FINISHED with Air Mauritius"!!!!

No Official news has been forthcoming yet via MANAGEMENT, other than that the SUSPENSION still stands.

Interview

I did the interview for airbus at MK, in my case I had a morning with psychometric tests, many stupid questions which are the same in different ways, and next day interview with chief pilots asking about everything including procedures and aircraft and aeronautical knowledge.

Air Mauritius had the T & C 's and salary structures on their website a few months ago. For expat pilots. Apparently they removed the link.
Salary scales can still be found on www.ppjn.com though. Hope this helps.

Wingmaaan, thanks for the info. I have applied but I'm not sure If I applied Via the correct method. The Flight International Website invited you send in your CV via their website, which I did. However, after returning to the website after submitting the CV, I notice a note that said you had to send in your application by filling in an on line application form. Which I tried but a banner appeared saying that I had already applied??

Do I leave it a few days and try again or would sending the CV be sufficient?

I submitted the application again on the correct form this time and also included the CV as well. I had a major problem pasting the photo on to the form. My system did not like it for some reason.
So sit back with fingers crossed now, hopefully things will start to improve on Ille de France.

Anyone know what the bonding arrangement is?

Bonding arrangements are for a 4 year period. What I heard they're conducting now assessments for ATR pilots ( captains and first officers ).
As usual you have to be patient with Air Mauritius. Things can get very slow over there regarding any recruitment. You have to give it time.
