UK Tax and type rating costs - advice pls!

Could one claim tax back in the UK for a self funded type rating?... or could he claim back the money spent paying a bond justified by the cost of a type rating?

I have not seen the documentation but the Chief pilot of a UK operator that uses the Embraer 145 aircraft told me yesterday: Mmo = 0.76, Mcrit = 0.86
