If you look around most of the front line FJ pilots seem to have engineering degrees of some flavour or other so you will be in good company. That said an EngO job isn't the worst option in the world...

I know at least 2 people who have appealed these things successfully. It seems absolutely ridiculous waste of money to train a pilot for 4 years then offer them a ground brach instead of a restream.
