Malmaison
I know there was a thread on here recently about this but i can't find it. Probably going to come across as a bit of a whinger here. However, the RAF news had a big song and dance about a special service rate of £59 b&b in all Malmaison hotels. However, what they fail to say is that the rate is only available on a Friday and a Sunday! And, everytime i have phoned i have been fobbed off with not being able to book unless the date is within 2 weeks and also told that the rate is £79! Anyone else got any stories of offers that don't seem to be as good as first thought. Or more helpfully, offers that are as good/better as advertised?

To be fair, that's exactly what is printed on here:

£79 rate applies to their London and Oxford hotels only, though.

I posted about this on arrse and had a correspondence with their people. Basically the deal is £59 for all hotels apart from Oxford and London, which are both £79. Its only on a Friday and Sunday though - you pay normal rates on all other nights.
The wording on the small print is a little unclear - I know a few people who thought it meant book up to 2 weeks in advance, not within 2 weeks.
The deal is good if you have short notice ability to travel, as the rooms are usually £150 plus - it also includes full b'fast (usually £15 per head) and 20% off food/drink as well.
Bottom line is that its great if you are fairly flexible, but dont bank on your holiday with it though!

Heard Halfords are offering Trade Cards on production of 1250 which should be a decent discount, not tried it myself yet.
Also 25% off at kwik-fit.

kwik fit? Nah. You need UK tyres online: Blackcircles.co.uk discount tyre specialist - they had a code in the Discounts Brochure that gave another couple of % off IIRC. Probably cheapest anyway.
Re: tyres
If you're anywhere near Bracknell in Berkshire try Bracknell Tyre & Battery 01344 411323. They're about 10-15% cheaper than BlackCircles, and I thought they were cheap.
