The main problem is that the US authorities consistently bail out the shareholders (and usually management too).
e.g. the US taxpayer only makes money on the spring Delta bailout if Delta shares...

Does the aircraft provide vertical speed to FR24, or is the above data just derived from altitude vs time? I suspect the latter might explain the spikes.
The data posted earlier shows ground speed...
