If I was a bit younger (49) I would probably go into turboprop and fly those for a bit and then try and go to jet but I suspect time aint on my side and I probably can't afford to risk that route.

Renewing ME/IR with valid SE/IR

I'm getting different opinions on this so thought I would throw it open to the forum:

I have a valid SE/IR....
I have held an ME/IR (it was initial issue) but I have not flown MEP for over 7...

I work part time (weekends only) in a busy flying school. They pay £20 per flying hour and i am averaging 10 hrs per weekend. None of us do it for the money! Clearly!

I think you have to include the negatives in a report or what is the point in trying to give someone feedback. Tell them the good stuff as well but the bad stuff is what they then need to concentrate...

You are quite right, you don't need to speak to the aerodrome when above 2000' AAL. If you've got nothing else to do then no harm in speaking to them but when you are having to get rid of Farnborough...
