Inboard vs outboard nacelle damage indeed is more than the 2.5 deg dihedral. But that is for a clean wing. On the DHC-8 the flaps were most probably down to 5 degrees; and if those flaps only hit the...

I agree with Easy Street; Indeed I don't see any other explanation for the radome and engine cowl damage than what is pictured on the A2 image.

In addition to the comment of Easy Street: The...

The answer to your question I don't know. All is speculative of course, but some things seem to make sense in scenario A.
In the drawing A2 can be seen that the upper...

Scenario A

So I now believe we agree that scenario A is the most likely one.

- The A350 was probably 1.5 to 2 meters RIGHT of centerline based on last position data.
- The DHC-8 was probably 2 to 3 meters...

Questions...

Questions to dig deeper into:

1. What part of the A350 hit the DHC-8 first?

2. Why did the nose gear collapse?

3. What did cause the radome damage?

Correct, and if you think about it; dumping fuel on a 747 would reduce your aircraft weight by about 2 tons per minute provided there is fuel in the centre tank. (without centre tank fuel that rate...
