This is very sad.

I hope the investigation recommends the use of a discrete CTAFrequency. I’ve only flown into YCAB about a dozen times, but it’s difficult to build a situational awareness of...

I'm not saying you should be landing on an unsuitable runway. And 45kts xw is clearly unsuitable. I'm reacting to the 767 pilot who says he always required the long runway because why wouldn't you....

What an interesting discussion.

On one hand we have complaints about Melbourne operating on a single runway causing delays. On the other, complaints about getting assigned a runway that isn't...

KLAX does not average 1min per movement per runway during its best hour let alone consistently. You may be confused with the stat one departure and one arrival per minute (on all four runways). ...

DFS selects remote tower technology

Unlike radar and procedural sectors that can be combined during low traffic, I can't see how one tower controller could be able to scan the whole environment simultaneously. Switching between...

BNE slow arrivals

The restriction is to do with aircraft moving around on the ground. Only one aircraft is permitted to move at a time on the runways and taxiways because no one can see anything. For this reason...

Do you know how this can happen?

I don't think you can quantify the minimum delays but you're on the right track. Generally if the delays are 20mins or more they are passed to the aircraft much much earlier. Often times in this...

Do you know how this can happen?

The distance at which the sequence can be locked in can be extended somewhat by requiring aircraft departing from close by airports to obtain their feeder fix time before they depart. The flow will...

Do you know how this can happen?

Generally speaking should say the wind be calm, you're cruising at FL400 in your 77W. You're 200nm to run and have been asked to lose 10 mins. I'd imagine you're pretty close to min speed already...

Do you know how this can happen?

Delays don't have much to do with traffic density in the vicinity, you don't get an extra lap just because someone is arriving into an airport down the road. What I'm trying to say with the LA...

Do you know how this can happen?

Alright let's use KLAX as a comparison. Brisbane weather, but without the thunderstorms. 666,900 per year on 4 parallel runways. 166,700 per runway plays 226,000.

This isn't a di@k measuring...

From how I understand it, when you adjust the propellor lever you're not adjusting the pitch of the blades. You're only adjusting what RPM the governor will limit at. The governor will then adjust...

Request vs Require.

ATC can't unduly delay an aircraft that requires a non duty runway for operational reasons.

If it is for other than operational reasons, aircraft using the duty runway will have priority.
