They should be able to check out into the mb training area, have a look on the mel vtc for boundaries.
Best if you wait until you have a ppl, u'll get treated differently and suffer less instructor...

You need an ATPL, a MECIR with 2 to 3 renewals, 2000h total 500h of which multi engine. Unless you do a cadetship then you need nothing.
