I received a letter saying the selection process is going fairly slow. They don´t really say if I´m in or not, only that prospective aplicants must wait for news next month.

I guess you are asking about official fees in Spain and not for school prices on type ratings. The official fees for a type rting are 437 € for the checkride and 19€ for inscription on your licence. ...

I suggest that you try to get on it and if he says no try next fly....
