I agree, one of the most tiresome tasks I do is sit down with a chart and convert 3 letter VOR names into "Biggin Hill" etc. ICAO should change to make it standard to refer to it as BIG not Biggin...

EDI - mmm another UK airport with no entry to the runway at it's full length! Why not put on the atis "A/C requiring full runway length should advise ATC on first contact", this would presumably help...
