Skid Height

You can't turn a Raven into a Clipper, but you can retro fit Dart floats to a Raven. I don't know the height in water of Dart floats.

Clipper skid gear is 1.5 inches higher than a Raven.

We also operate the R44 Clipper I with Fixed Floats:

80 kts VNE Placard - this is for R44's Clippers with POP OUT Floats, not fixed floats.

120 knots is VNE of Fixed Floats, subject to weight...

I believe the limit is due to the pressure differential in the floats to outside air pressure.

The increase in pressure descending 4000ft AGL would crush the floats, regardless of your height...
