Does this bond repayment for 18 months begin once the Type Rating is completed or once the Line training is completed and signed off the Line check?

Im just enquiring about flying in the US..

Do you need a Green card, or citizenship only or will an airline sponsor you for a working visa such as a H1B etc...or have those days gone?...
