Problem with mode C is that when there are too many hits, the system gets confused (see FRUIT). Mode S has more complexity which combats these issues..

So, CAT use class G, but can't see us because they are fast and have small windows.... they want US (i.e. light aircraft/gliders etc) to pay for equipment so they can see us! Well this is a fair deal...
