Not the case in many aircraft like the A400 I'm afraid. The hard part is getting a serviceable aircraft; that's not down to the crew but the 'adults' who are in charge of servicing it.

Hmmmm, my understanding was that you can't revert to the Career Spine unless you get promoted - I assume you are talking about the 5 year period that has to be served in order to get the PAS pension...
