Looks a lot like Al Ain, UAE, crosswind for Rwy 01.

The Grand Mercure on top of the mountain is a nice place to spend a couple of days on layover. Bit on the hot side right now.

EK upgrades

I am a regular in economy on Emirates YPPH-OMDB- ? sandpit service and have only been upgraded once in 3 years at their instigation in 17 roundtrips! All I can suggest is to use the early check-in...

You must work for them or have taken an extremely good sleeping pill Aussie. Even Saudia is better than EK, although not from Australia. My money is on Cathay and Malaysian.
