On the CF104 we used to put A4 envelopes full of cut up strips of foil(one shot chaff!) in the speed brakes both sides. (A hazardous job for the groundcrew as it was done after start).

The biggest problem in the 104 (apart from no lift) was actually negative g and a high roll rate. Bugging out of a fight was always interesting.

Gravity and mass don't change much (unless both burners are cooking over the top of a loop) = weight stays the same inverted or not.

Aerodynamically there is not much...

I also was lucky enough to fly both the Harrier and the 104 (CF).
LD ratio of 104 = no lift and not much more drag!!

We had one with no pylons and painted in black and white gloss paint would go...

Because they couldn't get up the ladder. I always found flying not a problem after a skinfull, but those ladders to the cockpit were damn tricky.
