A very eye catching title, but it was the title of an article I read in the mid 90s in RAF Air Clues I believe. I am trying to rediscover it if possible.

I recall that it was written by an experienced RAAF C130 line training captain who was given 'newbies' to teach them operational lessons etc. and his pitch was all about Human Factors/CRM etc. where he implied that just because he was 'old and bold' etc. didn't mean he couldn't make mistakes.

Anybody point me in the right direction?

And while we are at it: I can remember reading a wonderful article in the "MAC Flyer" in the mid-1970s which was all about "How to be the Perfect Co-Pilot".

I dearly wish I had it now. Could anyone oblige?

I obtained a wealth of airmanship knowledge in the Fifties and Sixties from US Navy "Approach" magazine and "The MAC Flyer". If Australian flight safety magazines are typical, there has been a depressing dumbing down of really valuable flight safety articles over the years (at least that is my perception) as the material is replaced by glossy promotion pictures, quizzes, lots of surreal photos of aircraft in a sunset, advertisements on how to be a pilot and general crap. One third of the magazines are huge photos that take half or all of a page.

If you can't find it elsewhere on-line, you should try writing to the CGI at CFS/3 FTS or the Flt Safety Officer at RAF Cranwell - a copy of the article was posted in 'Airmanship Hall'!
