Question Hard to find UAL 232 photo...

Hi all, hoping someone can help me out here...

have shortly to do a presentation, my subject is the accident at Sioux City.

Recall some years ago having seen a B&W pic of the aircraft in the air, clearly showign severe damage to the tail assembly.

Similar to the one shown here, except it was much clearer. may have been in the book "Air Disaster" vol 2, which unfortunately the library here has lost

Any help MUCH appreciated!!!

That picture was published on page 7 of NTSB report NTSB/AAR-90/06. I have checked on "Air Disaster 2" and there it looks even worse.
This scan may be of marginally better quality.

Perhaps someone with a paper copy of the report could give you a better scan.

I hope this helps.

thanks guys...

I may have been getting my pictures mixed up... (tired... ) think it may have been a pic of Capt Haynes giving a presentation, there was a picture of the DC-10 on a screen behind him, looked like it was taken from a different angle, but I see now it's probably just the same as the one here...

it seems to me that the scan is clearer than the one I have, aerolearner. On the one I have here (on paper) the damage in front of the top arrow seems much less visible than in your scan... anyway will give it a go and see how it comes up on the overheads...

Thanks very much...
