RAeS honours Flying Lawyer
The Royal Aeronautical Society has recognised Tudor Owen (Flying Lawyer)'s contribution to aviation by making him a Fellow.
Fellowship is the highest grade that can be attained. Most of us start off as Members, and can sometimes progress. According to the blurb, entry to the RAeS at Fellow grade is "only bestowed on people who have made a 'significant contribution' to aviation."
Congratulations FL - you've earned it.
(I look forward to meeting you at the RAeS some time.)

Very good news that Tudor Owen's good work for Aviation has been recognised.
Perhaps in time the enforcement branch, CAA, will be encouraged to be more honest and reasonable!!
PS that's my personal opinion and do not wish to colour FL's good reputation.

There was a profile of Tudor Owen in Pilot magazine recently; it's clear that the world of general aviation, in particular, owes a great deal to him. Two more like him and we wouldn't be in this mess. Well done, Flying Lawyer, and I hope we never do business.

I've only just seen this thread, pressure of work having kept me offline for a few days.
Belated thanks to you all for your generous messages on this thread, and for the many emails I've received from PPRuNe contributors.
I was naturally delighted by the RAeS' decision, and my pleasure was made even greater by the good wishes of my PPRuNe friends.
My sincere thanks to you all. It means a lot to a lawyer to find he has some friends!!

Hearty Congrats, Flying Lawyer. The least they could do in recognition of all your stalwart support.. .I'm just relieved we have someone like you on our side when the vultures gather.
