Several colleagues have used their existing CWL-MAN-CWL service and found the crews to be very professional and friendly. However, not many other pax. travelling.
I hope things have improved recently, to enable support for this new (very viable), service.
I wish you the very best of luck.

EuroCeltic were quoted as wanting to start a LPL-Waterford service, with a view to re-establishing the LPL-LTN link at a later date. Both have so far come to nothing.
Today's local press states that both Ryanair and British Regional had also considered a London link fom Liverpool, the latter already having dismissed the possibility some time ago and Ryanair most unlikely to take it up.
The article also quotes LPL management as saying that the ball is in Air Wales' court and that there are other interested parties
in discussions with LPL.

And pigs might fly, is this the same Air Wales that JHE announced was about to start to fly Transatlantic flights recently, is planning a round Wales service, getting F27's and still only manages to carry penny numbers on a good route like MAN/CWL.
If punters are used to paying £9 on easyjet's finest 737's what would they pay on a droning Dornier 228 - £100, £150, £200? I can tell you what AW would have to charge to base aircraft and crew in a new base working on a maximum load of circa 15pax with bags? With a 75% load factor at least £180 methinks? It just aint gonna work.
LPL/LTN might be a good route but it needs a bigger and better aircraft than a Do228 and an airline with some sort of marketing stategy and reservations infrastructure. Air Wales has neither.
Still what would I know.....

Liverpool- "London" ain't gonna work. It has been tried so many times...BEA, BAW, BMA and VLM as a bounce to Rotterdam. Each time, same story...no pax.
Air Wales from EGCC, up to 9 pax now
we aim to please, it keeps the cleaners happy

Who says that they are discounted?
Even if they are, 9 "discounts" are better than 9 empty seats, or am I wrong?
ps, the cleaners ARE pleased with my aim

Of course you are quite right Chiglet any seat filled with any revenue is better than an empty one. Point I am trying to make is that if the block times on CWL/MAN/CWL are circa 2.25 hrs and it costs £700 pbh to operate the Dronier 228, then each of those 9 passengers would have to pay £175 to break even - which they are not. I understand the full published fare is £189 but I have been quoted mostly between £99 and £139 so the route has to be making a loss? Loss equals no smiles on the shareholders faces or am I wrong?
Having said all that of course I have to say the team in the airline are all great people and deserve the best, believe me I wish them every success. Operationally they are terrific and the nicest bunch out but commercially er....... and unfortunately airlines need to get both right for long term survival!
Allegedly..

Like many previous JHE enterprises, the investors are finding that it would be cheaper to pay people not to fly with them. Strangely, though, he always seems to come out of these things wealthier than when he went in!
Let's see what happens if we take the average number of passengers carried on EZY's flights; the number of flights operated per day; and the average yield per pax; mix that up and add in a nice web based res system such as OpenSkies and what do we have....? Oops!! Not a DO228 with a dragon on the fin, anyway!
One would have thought that out of the hundreds of pax that flew the route with EZY every day, nine would have been prepared to pay £185? On the other hand, maybe not ... I understand you can buy houses in Toxteth for less than that!
Sorry John!

As long as JHE is running the show,it will never make it.
AW is owned by one financier, who just happens to own half of Swansea,at the moment, until AW bankrupts him.
An ill advised venture, doomed to fail, run by a group of enthusiastic amateurs unfortunately.
At least JHE will have another golden nest egg!!!!!

Capt K agree with 90% of what you say, can't agree the venture was ill advised though. The idea is sound enough BA carried 9,500 pax on CWL/MAN and have you seen how many people get on the ferry from Swansea to Cork each day - 800 berths I believe on the new one! You are absolutely correct if the overheads fly higher than the aircraft as no-one knows any better and there is a total lack management skill or any marketing or reservations system it will only last as long as Mr financier is prepared to keep dipping his hand in his pocket.....
What would I know..
