Friday October 4, 12:47 am ET
TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- All Nippon Airways Co. (J.ANA or 9202) Friday announced salary cuts for its top executives as a punitive measure for a flight delay after a pilot was found to have consumed alcohol prior to takeoff.
Company's chairman Kichisaburo Nomura and president Yoji Ohashi will have their salaries cut 20% for the three months to December. In addition, executive vice president Manabu Ohuchi, who is in charge of ANA's flight operations, will be demoted to senior vice president.
ANA also stripped flight crew qualifications from the pilot who caused about the 7-hour delay to the flight from Ho Chi Minh City bound for Narita airport last month, as he had consumed alcohol six hours before departure.
