Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport was the scene of an aircraft collision Wednesday morning, when two planes backed into one another on the tarmac.
The incident occurred when a Boeing 737 operated by Germania Airlines which had been scheduled to take off for Berlin backed out from the terminal to taxi out to the runway.

When we had tug caused aircraft damage during a pushback a couple of years back, the airport authority came good for a large part of the damage cost. There were musings that in addition to two wing walkers we assigned, we should have assigned a tug walker too. I suggested that there would then be risk of the tug walker getting run over!
According to The Times of Israel, the El Al 767 had pushed back and was stationary when the Germania 737 was pushed into it.
That's consistent with the photos. I would expect a different pattern of damage had the 737 been stationary and hit sideways by the 767 moving backwards.
