I am trying to renew my UK passport offshore ..... needed a renewal form so called embassy at long distance rates and listened to about 5 minutes of automatic junk and then finally was told that I was required to call a premium rate number if I wanted to talk to someone in the passport section ...... called the number at equiv. of 80 pence stg per minute ..... lots of nice music and finally got hold of a human who promised to mail me a form ..... two weeks later and still no form and oh, by the way, the premium call cost me stg 6.00 ......
