Well there you have it. The A380 is so big that it can shed enough parts to look like a crash, and still land safely.

Holy Cow! Looking at photo 5 in the news, looks like some debris fell through the roof of houses, including a large chunk of what looks like 1/4 of the rotor assembly, that would have considerable weight, no wonder the extent of the damage!
