It would be interesting to hear how many pilots agree with you. Pulling the nose up immediately causes a gain in altitude, soon followed by a loss of airspeed. I don't think most pilots disagree with that. If that is what you were taught and it works, good luck. I always used them together and added power nosing up and reducing power descending. Worked great for 23,000 hrs.
