Not looking good at all then at Baby!!
And Xmas - What a complete waste of time it is, ALWAYS has been ALWAYS will be.
Xmas is for the 'Nutmegs' in the world who are already drowning in their own debts, But insist on pumping their money into it!!
It's a shame they don't pump their money into this 'Ailing' Airline Industry!!
Xmas creates more problems than anything else!!
But we have to go along with it all every 12 months, Then it's quickly forgotten about a week later.
I hope the affected staff are ok and stay in the Industry.

Good luck to all.
Is it just air crew that are affected or are groundstaff/engineering getting hit equally as hard?

Sad day, good luck to all. Is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that now we are supposed to be coming out of the recession the airlines are only now cutting staff to try and save money.
I thought all was well at baby, I heard their bookings were up for next summer and they were looking for more aircraft, seems the Germans have different ideas.
If they cut services from LHR for mainline who will get the slots? Will Lufthansa use them or will they be sold.

Very sad news at Baby, especially before Christmas. Old economic wisdom said that the airline industry leads into recession and leads out. That could mean two things. Firstly our industry is in dire straits. Or secondly we,re still going into recession, a real possibility as our wonderful leaders say we're entering recovery.
My guess is a bit of both. A bumpy ride for a while I fear.

History relates (check Japan) that unemployment lags any depression with unemployment continuing to rise after the recession is over (which it isn't, yet of course).

history repeats
Bad news. I feel sad for the hard working crews that once again have been led up this path by mis management.
I sometimes wonder how NT sleeps at night.
Good luck to all concerned.

The company's been in a mess for a long time.
The management are famous for being well below standard, this is their fault, big time.
The previous owner had cloudied the waters well enough for no one to see where the losses came from.
Then, his own sideways involvements have clearly drained the pot.
Now's the last chance saloon.
The new owners will give it a shot, albeit with a smaller size airline than a thimble.
It's gonna become a revolving s*itstorm for the next few months!
Even those that will stay will not be secure, as it needs a miracle management, but currently it has a bunch of idiots in place.

Nothing much has changed.
I was made redundant by Midland 29 years ago........the date.......December 26th!! (Boxing Day)
I did, however, receive a Christmas card from fleet management wishing me a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!!
Best wishes to all those affected.

Sad days, but I always thought before Christmas would be prefered to after when you may well of spent a lot of money.
1. Has BMI Baby ever made a profit?
2. Everyone has known for ages that these 5 aircraft would NOT have there lease renewed.
3. The company will be wound down over the next 2 years as the leases come up for renewal. The Germans dont want them and will wind it down in the cheapest way possible.
4. My advice to anyone working for Baby is to look for another place to work.
