From the Blue Fox website ... if they've linked up with PS then...! Strange the BAC1-11s aren't mentioned!

Blue Fox and European Aviation Group explore common ground
Release Date: Jul 31, 2001
New UK all-business class carrier Blue Fox has opened talks with European Aviation with a view to exploring business opportunities together. European Aviation, headquartered in Bournemouth, Dorset has a centre specialising in aircraft reconfiguration and design. This is just one area where Blue Fox is enthusiastic to call upon their expertise, according to Blue Fox president Michael Lord-Castle.

A number of synergies exist between Blue Fox and European Aviation in regard to respective markets and vision statements. “The Blue Fox concept, together with the wealth of experience and pedigree of their management team, coupled with our own experience in the aviation business could lead to a number of interesting opportunities such as aircraft interiors, inflight entertainment and corporate business travel,” said European Aviation Managing Director Trevor Whetter.

European Aviation, formed in 1994, is part of the European Aviation Group whose companies include charter airline European Air Charter and the European Minardi Formula One Racing Team. The airline operates a fleet of eight hushkitted Boeing 737-200 aircraft and is prolific in the executive air charter VIP market.

Guv where on earth did you dig that up? Because wherever it was, it needs to be reburied as rapidly as possible.

Whichever pissed old hack "wrote" (I would prefer "perpetrated") that complete load of codswallop is clearly trying desperately to conceal the fact that (a) he has no idea whatsoever how to write English, (b) has no idea at all about the business world aviation or (c) aviation.

It would, at least, be more honest if he were to write it in the type of language with which he is clearly more familiar - the sort of "Phew What A Scorcha" language and clichés of The Sun.

I know, it's a giggle isn't it? I did hear that ML-C does most of these things himself...

No sign of Mike McTighe's details on their website - but it does say that Capt Robert Styles will be on the 'UK Advisory Board' which appears from the blurb to be their term for consultants:

Here's what it says about him:

* Boeing 767 specialist
*director of the International Aviation Group Ltd - consultants in airline formation * British Airways senior captain for 17 years with 22,000 hours flying activity

A specialist on the Boeing 767, Robert is a director of both the International Aviation Group Ltd which is a consultancy providing expertise in aircraft brokerage and in airline formation, and a member of BAFT, a provider of examiners and instructors to carry out training of all types for B767/B757 pilots. The company is presently providing conversion courses for three well-known airlines. Before these positions Robert was with Consulente Generale for Air Europe, a complex Belgian consultancy dealing in trouble shooting, pilot recruitment and mergers.
Robert has developed a network of current contacts in aviation regarding the B767, in the fields of troubleshooting, brokerage, flight operations, recruitment and training.

A British Airways senior captain for 17 years, Robert has clocked 22,000 hours flying activity, including those on a simulator. He continues to fly, normally twice a month, as
a test pilot and base training captain on the Boeing 767.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (not that much of a request for Pprune !!), but weren't IAG behind the failed Classic L1011 operation, subject of much Pprune discussion ?

If so, then perhaps that will make for some interesting discussion !!

Zones - that was Independent Aviation Group.

Hot off the press from Blue Fox:

[quote]Blue Fox appoints Mike McTighe as
Chief Operating Officer

Mike McTighe has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of new transatlantic all-business airline, London Stansted-based Blue Fox Executive Airlines. Mike brings some 25 years of airline experience to the start-up carrier with an aviation career which started with Servisair at Edinburgh, Dan-Air and latterly, the UK’s leading charter carrier Britannia Airways.

Mike, aged 43, first joined the London Luton-based airline in 1977 and has held a number of appointments at senior operational level. From 1992 to 1997 he was general manager-cabin service, responsible for the training and management of 1,500 cabin crew. As general manager airport services from 1988, he was responsible for the merging of the airline’s UK and Overseas teams into one.

Most recently, Mike was part of the project team which launched Britannia Germany, one of the first airlines in the country to receive JAR Ops approval. Mike was Managing Director up until July 2001 and was largely credited for the airline’s excellent record in operational efficiency.

“We are delighted to welcome Mike McTighe to the team,” said Blue Fox President Mike Lord-Castle. “He has exceptional knowledge of the airline business and with his strong managerial skills at operational level he will be terrific asset to us.”

Mike commented: “It is very exciting to be part of this dedicated and professional management team at Blue Fox. We have a terrific concept to market, a sound business plan and all of us are working extremely hard toward launch.”

Blue Fox is preparing to launch twice-daily flights to New York JFK from its own dedicated terminal at London Stansted in spring 2002. It plans to fly seven Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which will be configured for 138 passengers in 50-inch seat pitch. Services to west coast routes – Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco and Los Angeles will follow after New York – whereupon the airline will be supporting five 767s.
