Good. Doesn't take much to wind you nerds up again. But just a point of fact. I'm sick and tired of you Red Arrows/Chief charter pilot types ranting about £33k. That is basic. Allowances and FHR are a minimum of £1000 per month take home on most if not all fleets. Therefore, your salary equates to about £45-50k gross. So shut up or rejoin the Air Force or something.

B Calm,
Although I have no intention of winding anyone up here, it must be said that attitudes such as you last comment may be the reason that people in the civil side of the industry don't take to ex-forces aircrew.
Although not in the Airforce myself, I have enjoyed 3 great years of experience with them through my time at University. However, when the time came, I decided against joining - not because I was rejected, but because I though it wasn't for me. Not everyone wants to be in the airforce.
Thus, although I have ultimate respect for all members of HM's forces, you cannot deny that attitudes exist that could easily wind up those on the outside!

Hey NN
quote from Johnson:
"Every man thinks meanly of himself for not having been a soldier, or nor having been at sea"
or does last summer's trip on daddy's yacht get you out of that one?
PS: I HAD to point out your postings to my wife, an ex-army Captain (that's a proper rank, BTW) and her only comment was 'What an a*se'

I myself reckons the only extra stripes NN needs are on his back from a Captain's lash!
Must get in touch with my mates (ex Reds mates/Chief Charter pilots) in BA and get them to pack a special overnight bag.
Bet cockpit relationships are tops on one of his flights!
