Post BRITISH EUROPEAN - NEW ROUTES

I can confirm as of 7 November 2001 British European will operate Birmingham - Brussels, Edinburgh - Brussels, Newcastle - Brussels. Further routes are being considered but no decision has been made. Initially two rotations will be flown increasing to three as of 8 November 2001.

Excellent news for BE. However any news on LCY and extra routes? We have the now vacant SN route sitting there waiting to be plucked. Would be a good addition and why should BE give it up to VLM?!?!?!?

On a sadder note, I am sorry about the demise of SN and wish their staff all the best

As BE are only competing with you at BHX I fail to see why you have posted such a note as to get at a regional airline. Alos to imply that BE will be just using Dashes is incorrect to say the very least. BE have both 146s and CRJs at their disposal to operate the routes. Whilst I am glad to see that both airlines are now taking over SN routes I am sad to see such a posting as yours belittling BE. Attitudes like that in this day and age are spiteful and incalled for. Shame on you

EICAS

One CRJ left BHX this evening to start EDI to BRU in the morning. The NCL to BRU will be done on the 146 tomorrow, don't know about NCL.

So why the need to be rude ?

Firstly it is not old boy. There are women aviators in case you were not aware, and secondly BE is not my firm. However I will defend any company that like my employers started from nothing. My grievence with you is your insinuation that BE will not be able compete with BMIs jet fleet. CB at LCY have shown that often smaller aircraft can win over jets. It is all down to service.

I am confident that BE will make a sucess out of all their routes as I am sure BMI will. ANyway lets not forget, that all this only happened due to the demise of one of Europes oldest airlines. This is one discussion I would rather not be having. Sure glad I am not in BRU tomorrow

Can't say I keep an eye on such things but I can't help wondering where BE are getting all the aircraft to operate these additional routes.

I believe it is called "making a plan" – not a phrase heard often around these parts.

What great news for BE. It is nice to see a British airline coming good in such difficult times. It is obviously sad for all concerned at Sabena and I hope they all find work soon.
