AN12 Down in Sierra Leone

An AN12 lost its U/C after landing at Lungi Airport Freetown Sierra Leone on or around the 31st Dec 07. No injuries reported. Pictures below (Hopefully):

Classic.. I should have started counting a few years ago... how many I've seen flying .... how many I've seen blocking my view off the side of runways in Congo, Sudan, Chad... 'yawn'... time to drop off to sleep counting sheep.. or downed Antonovs...

Obviously the fact that the tyre had so much tread, the u/c couldnt cope with the extra weight...

They shouldn't have any trouble picking another one up, there are plenty AN12s lying across Africa

The pictures remind me somehow of the movie "Lord of War" with Nicholas Cage when his rented Antonov got scavenged by locals.
