Apparently it's going to be "John Lennon Airport" according to news.bbc.co.uk

Better than being called Beetle Airport. This could start a trend with Luton becoming Lorraine Chase Airport

Red face

Poor Old John,

Wonder how he would feel about this!

Fancy being honoured by a flippin airport!

I would have thought an art gallery, a monument, or maybe a hospital.

But, a non enviromentally friendly, pollution promoting airport!

Can't see that this would be up his street somehow.

Always thought Paul was more talented.
A great team though. For all of you young enough to have been 11-16 when they were leading edge phenom.... Has anyone surpassed their songbook and the frenzy of the time?

edited for t.

Well shake it up baby...

Jasper Carrott International?

You're doing a great disservice to the airport which should surely be known as "Lenny Henry International Airport!" - I know it's not in Dudley but .........

Then you could have a little rock opera at top of drop.

Capt: Let me take you down
FO: Are we going to?
Both: Strawberry Field

But seriously. Airports tend to get named after politicians. JFK CDG etc. Now I have nothing against politicians except that they are without exception a bunch of self serving wasters.

Much better to name it after a talented musician who brought pleasure to millions.

Derek Hatton International? Pulleeez!

(Edited for typos....how about a spell checker Danny)

Much better to have called it Liverpool Bill Shankly.

Or Liverpool Bob Paisley, then we could have
Belfast Ian Paisley and Glasgow Paisley.

Cool

Restrict the new name to fit with the designator.

LPL = Love People Love (as John might have said)

Incidentally, there IS a Strawberry Fields named after him in Central Park, close to where he was murdered.
