From the BBC:

"A French man has been charged with a bomb hoax and endangering an aircraft after an incident on an Easyjet passenger flight to Britain. The 51-year-old was arrested after the flight from Nice carrying 130 passengers landed at Luton Airport at 1700 GMT on Tuesday.

He is due to appear in front of Bedfordshire magistrates later on Wednesday morning.

The flight was met by Bedfordshire Police, who had been alerted by the plane's crew, and was searched by officers.

All those travelling on board had to go through extra security checks on landing.

A spokeswoman for Luton Airport said the operational running of the airport had not been affected."

The old naval punishment of "flogging round the fleet" seems like a good idea. How many aircraft does Easy have?

Question

Can I ask why a crew member would inquire as to the contents of a passenger's bag in flight ?

Thumbs up

The gentleman in question is a French lawyer and has been released on a bail of £15,000. Hope they lock him up and throw away the key.

He was asked to put said bag under the seat in front for landing. He said he couldn't or wouldn't because there was a bomb in it. . .Apparantly he was worried about damaging his specs which were in the bag.
