Turkish aircraft lost altutude due to turbulence?
I just heard in the Greek radio, about a Turkish aircraft, which allegedly lost some thousands of feet due to turbulence over Evros (East part of Greece next to Istanbul). The flight was scheduled from DUS to IST yesterday afternoon. Sorry but that was all I heard.
Anyone else have more details?

From the newspapers today:
It was an A321 scheduled TK1528 from Dusseldorf to Istanbul. POB 118. Turbelence at around 18000ft while descending to Istanbul, within Istanbul TMA. 13 people (including cabin crew) were sent to hospital. Only checked at hospital. All well.

I dont know how common it is, but I've been 2-3,000ft below the aircraft ceiling in an A321, and then turbulence has reduced the airspeed by 40kt or more and forced us to lose 300ft. No injuries though (thankfully).
