Exclamation TRANS AIR LINK Crash

Turbo-prop crashed on the beach. Both pilots OK.
I saw it yesterday on TV and again this morning, but unfortunately I've only caught the end of it.

These turkeys earlier wanted an L10 freighter on their certificate....not likely now.
Certificate....think it may well go away.

From the photo's in the press the bent props would indicate the port engine was still turning when it hit the ground.

411A, I don't think so. The company can easily say pilot error. Right now there appears to be no strong indications that the company itself was in the wrong. As for trusting fuel gauges, I have always been taught not to trust them.

I worked for TAL many years ago when they operated DC6/7's. It was a fine company then. The MIA FAA always pointed them out as a company to be modeled after to new operators.

Question

rick, is that the same company that operates the DC-7 freighter painted in the old American colors?

Ran out of gas?

Let me guess- us yanks are trying to beat the EU guys on this board in the Jump-To-Conclusions Olympics (referring, of course, to the Crossair crash thread).

Like Rick1128 I used to fly on the DC-6 for TAL 17 years ago and I still remember them as being a very good company. They treated us very good and were honest with us.
