First Choice emergency turnback to LGW
BBC picked up a story on a Jetset air turnback to LGW tonight. Nice to see a journo on board not taking the opportunity to sensationalise the incident as is all too often seen.

'Eye witness' facts...
235 pax/crew.
Strong smell of burning/fumes at front of aircraft.
Returned to LGW, ?overweight landing. Full Emergency declared - as normal procedures.
Taxied to stand, smell of burning still strong, pax deplaned via external stairs, albeit rather quickly.
AFS checked out aircraft with thermal imaging equipment.
No injuries. Pax all seemed happy and cheerful - taking photos etc. Crew happy and cheerful.
Pax bussed to terminal - alernative aircraft/flight departed about 2340hrs.
Believe cause of fumes was arcing of wiring above PSU near front of aircraft...
Professional crew, situation handled well, good outcome.
