Minor drama at Aeroparque and Ezeiza yesterday

The gist of it is that an Austral MD83 lost a wheel on take-off from Aeroparque. It bounced through the perimeter fence, crossed the street, whizzed by a couple of bus stops and a petrol station before coming to rest in an adverstising hoarding.

Pilot unaware of what had occured, was informed by ATC, tootled around over the river to burn off fuel and landed without major probs at Ezeiza where the incident and the damage caused to the runway caused some disruption to service.
