I thought it was Doctors (Beechcraft Bonanza - Doctor killer) but your point is accurate

I was flamed by a few of his disciples for making a comment on one of his videos. I suggested that he should consider making a video highlighting the prime importance of Lookout……and perhaps watch it a few dozen times before he next takes to the air!

Thats my standard comment when I watch videos of aerobatics - they get flown on instruments!

Me too, I commented and was accused by his fan club of being jealous.

Aeros on instruments, sure you didn't train in the USN 212? Aeros were an exercise in instrument flying.

I have theory that the chances of dying in a helicopter, speedboat, or sportscar are directly proportional to wealth !
I prefer to be poor and safe

If you're driving or flying it yourself - most certainly.

A significant number of people who have been financially successful have character traits that may help in business but don't help keep you alive in a helicopter - Contrarianism, disregard for rules, increased risk appetite, overconfidence, aggression.

This can also apply to occasions where they are being flown by other people and they apply excessive pressure to get where they want to go.

It's not a new phenomenon sadly.

I'd like to hope that Mr Fishwick learns a few lessons before he learns the very hard way.

Well, that's a sweeping generalisation if ever I heard one.

Just a few of us prefer to think we are intelligent enough to be risk adverse and would quit like to..you know.. live.

Just because you have a few extra stripes on your lapels doesn't give the right to patronise. Or that's what my mum used to say.

Love this one...
“Why don’t you have windscreen wipers in a helicopter?"
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1734017087167116

Because someone had them removed Dave... :ok:

Sounds like thousands of helicopter pilots that have filtered into the industry in the past....Combat Helicopter pilots who flew their aircraft daily into environments that made those traits desirable and sought after.

Those traits do not transfer nicely to the ordinary and mundane business of civilian helicopter flying.

The hard part of this is deciding what risks are acceptable, what techniques are the most appropriate, and being able to select the best offerings.

The key is to draw from credible, experienced, and knowledgeable sources and just because you seen a video on YouTube or somewhere else.....that in no way conveys the source is one you should latch onto for your guidance.

I tried to watch that linked video and lasted less ten seconds before shutting it off.

It was not only offensive to my hearing but the quality of presentation was grossly lacking. That his prattle and voice was akin to the screeching of fingernails on the slate Chalk Board in my Junior High School Typing Classroom....made it impossible for me to think anyone would make much of anything the guy had to say.

But then...mine is just one opinion amongst many.

Dear Dave, please visit Historic Helicopters and you will see every aircraft there has windscreen wipers fitted.

The only helicopter I have flown without wipers is the R22.

Some here might decry the CFS system but it does at least teach you how to convey information accurately and, in most cases, interestingly.:ok:

especially if you haven't been through a rigorous military selection and training system to teach you to use those characteristics for a purpose other than showing off your wealth.

One reason why I didn't do private owners as a TRE.

I was expecting this person to be one of our Southern neighbours in America..

rottenjohn 17th March 2025 06:58

How this guy ever got a license is beyond me. He has no clue , his knowledge of helicopter principles of flight is pretty much zero

Hughes500 17th March 2025 08:14

Guys I think you miss the point, his videos are not aimed at the likes of us they are aimed at Joe public.( give the average punter a trial lesson and speak about POF they are lost within 10 minutes ) Bit like telling most of you this is how to work out the ratios on a gas compression compressors for a power generation system ( my son's job, i have an idea of what he is talking about but when you see the maths !!!!!! )
Crab windscreen wipers, shows actually you only really fly IFR machines, here is list of machines that dont have wipers 47,407,505, 269, 369, 206, 22,44,66,280,480, most 350's most 341/342 's that weren't mil ones,

Two's when you realise who the driver of the 350 was you might have a better understanding of the crash and the physiology of that particular person. Fishwick not of that same breed.

Physiology or psychology?
