Congested Area Landings

Hey Shy,

Not fully correct now that SERA is here:

SERA.3105, Minimum heights, and SERA.5005, Visual Flight Rules, allow you to do this as a private operator so no need to inform the CAA, But SERA.3101, Negligent or reckless operation of aircraft, could catch you out if you're a single, or twin without the ability to land safely or continue the flight.

No doubt it may change in the future but that's how it stands at present.

I'll wait for the tirade of replies from those with a higher degree of wisdom along with a greater depth of knowledge and understanding that I have to exist with...:}

Go on then....

Keep Helitech close to London? So why not Denham,Fairoaks,White Waltham....hire a hangar and park the inmates outside for a few days ,deck it out with booths and hospitality suites...close to Corporate and City gents...Heathrow.... Access for fly ins or by road ...Too simple??!

Kalif, I not so sure you're fully up to date. It's difficult to work out what the regulations actually are, right now; too many exemptions and amendments to what we all "knew and loved" for decades.

But it has also been discussed recently in this thread:

From here:

Rules of The Air 2015 (March 2015)
This is what I found in section 3:

Landing and taking off within congested areas and near open-air assemblies
5.—(1) An aircraft must not take off or land within a congested area of any city, town or
settlement except—
(a) at an aerodrome in accordance with procedures notified by the CAA; or
(b) at a landing site which is not an aerodrome in accordance with the permission of the
CAA.
