Which contract as Shell has many in place i.e. where and how long? You're (double) post is meaningless without more info.

My marking on your Newbie post - must try harder!!

I hope you take no offense and keep posting openings;-), but your posting required a 109SP and NVG rating, SUFFICIENT experience on type and in law enforcement, and immediate availability.

Self funding type ratings (especially twin engine ones) in the hope it will be the right one for a future job that will not require the 'sufficient' experience part is only second to flying for free or paying for a SIC seat, IMHO.

ShyTorque 31st May 2016 22:35

Hueyracer, self funded, speculative type ratings are far too expensive for most to even consider.

(Speaking as one who has never paid for a helicopter type rating in well over thirty five years).

hueyracer 1st Jun 2016 06:11

No offense taken....just pointing out that there is still a demand....as usual, pilots either have the wrong ratings, the wrong experience, or the wrong attitude....

We all know this business....right time, right experience, knowing the right people, and you´re in......no network, no rating, no qualification-you´re out.

Especially some of the (newer) offshore-pilots consider themselves a gift to aviation, not understanding that the OGP world is only a small part of this industry, and there are different skillsets needed.....

But this topic is for job postings...so my apologies for hijacking it....
