FINN ? Styrmenn - First Officers

How many pilots from CHC Norway, have lost their job during the last year, and now the Bergen Contract with 5 x S92s?

tgvbhy15 25th Feb 2016 20:03

Bristow now hiring 25 FO's for Norway.
What about the 66 pilots (mostly Captains) that were fired less than 6 months ago in the North Sea region? And the other almost 80 fired internationally?
Young FO's out there looking for a job and seeing Bristow as your ticket to a great career: Be warned! You'll give Bristow the best 10 or 15 years of your life and then you'll just be replaced by a younger cheaper version. By then, you'll be in your late 40s early 50s and all you'll know is fly in a straight line to offshore rigs... worthless to helicopter operators outside of oil and gas.....

Same again 25th Feb 2016 20:45

It has always been this way and will always be this way. What do you do in the helicopter industry Mrtgvbhy?

Hot_LZ 25th Feb 2016 21:12

Not one Captain has been a compulsory redundancy on the C/NNS. Those that have gone have all taken voluntary. Only cojos that have received the boot.

Less so international, and those let go weren't offered work back on the continent necessarily.

But generally, I agree...

Interestingly the third job advert from PSNI in 12 months. Might need a bit more than an A&H for this one. Unit has been running understaffed with pilots for a few years. They've struggled with recruitment and can't seem to retain pilots either.

inputshaft 18th Mar 2016 05:33

Sorry, excuse my ignorance - A&H?

I hate it when I can't keep up.:O

GoodGrief 18th Mar 2016 06:16

Airplane and Helicopter.

Ed Winchester 18th Mar 2016 07:11

Input shaft,

A = CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
H = CPL(H)

However - you don't need both - the application actually states and/or.
