Thanks VF; In#4377 there appears to be a clearer `flatter` area behind the tail(100m) as opposed to the hillside,although there appear to be pylons/wires in the distance with possible departure that way or off to the left of the direction the a/c is facing. depending on any wind direction..?

G'day etudiant....Mate it really ain't that stressful & sure is ****e ain't second guessing! But You gotta be on the ball :) pick Her up, have a good look at what Your pulling??? What's left (if anything) ask yerself what do I need eXtra to escape & bingo, put Her down & off load something :ok: or, in this case turning it into wind & using the footy field sized pad in front of You would have probably saved a perfectly good Machine :{
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oye there sycamore......bit of a deceiving picture that 2nd one, off to the right (out of view behind the spectators) there is a footy field sized pad that everyone USUALLY uses & was into wind, is downhill with an an up-slope afternoon breeze ;) DOH :ooh: http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...G_2350%201.jpg |

G'day etudiant.....Yip it's certainly 'situational awareness' & it's also basic common bloody sense for survival in a limited power environment & there are numbers for this, just do it by the numbers, ain't that hard :rolleyes: Cheers...HappyHappy ;)

So who was the VIP in 4386 who required armed guards?
Sort of reminds me of waiting at Tumlingtar for a flight to Katmandu and the first plane heard was the daily Chinese reconn flight and the second was supposed to be ours .... the tents came down in record time but when the door opened two gentlemen stepped out with sub machine guns at the ready .... it was the banks flight and ours was hours later, oh well! |

Simply stunning shot, clearly some challenging terrain there, bit more chalenging for fixed wings though. ;)
There may be 4 of us coming to Nepal next year, so do you fancy showing us some sights? |

there is no place for liar fake mountain pilots in my Himalayan mountains, fakers kill themselves and take innocent lives with them. I've seen a few here both airplane and helicopter pilots, some were Nepali nationals crash

How much can a Koala Bare
Morning AnimalMother...................it certainly is, can't see where else it could get as serious as the Himalayas, actually not so tough for the Stiff Wing lads as the Airports don't change, some weather is always available from ATC so their decision making is much more fixed, bit like their wings. Where ours is constantly new areas, new pads, no forecasting so up to the PIC alone :confused: I'm in & out, often on the other side, so let me know when Your coming & maybe we can do something :ok:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey fadecdegraded........totally agreed :( ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- G'day Rotor Babe............yes totally correct, seen the same, very sad := http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...2D25F32DC6.jpg |

This is Lukla, not far from my home. Thanks for posting, very awesome picture, never seen it like this.

As a mere fixed-wing pilot who occasionally gets the ASI to read zero while airborne only through massive position error or on top of a stall turn, I have to say these pics are awesome! :ooh::D
