As nice as it is to fill up your car with cheap gas…..not so nice any more when they take your jobs away for that…

It´s just the way the business works:
Oil price low=no budget left for exploration…..
Oil price high=even "more expensive" operations will find a budget...

Sorry to hear that Everett/ Bristow have had to get the push. However, how true is this, if so, is it a temporary hold of Statoil operations and intend to resume when favourable to do so. Or, is it a S*** Canning. It would be a shame to see 3x new AW 139's left redundant notwithstanding the blokes.

Give it six months and there'll likely be a few more than 3 redundant aircraft, not to mention crews.

The blocks available off Tanzania have proved very positive in recent exploration over the previous few years, so no doubt these will still need to be explored further once oil prices pick up again.

Not all bad for some, I have heard that Bristow is relocating some of it crew to other places. So at least some guys will still have job at the start of 2015. International offshore such a fickle beastie.

I hear Everett/Bristow haven't 'got the push' in the sense of being replaced. STATOIL are just finishing early as a result of the present state of the offshore industry. Things will eventually pick up as there's a lot of gas offshore Tanzania and Mozambique, and looking at Everett's history, they seem to pick up a lot of small, specialised contracts doing all sorts of work.

In the Transocean fleetoverview of October the contract would run till March 2015 with an expected 30 day downtime for inspection in the 4th quarter this year. If they have shifted the inspection till end of contract the end of contract at end January is likely.

Question is who held the heli contract for Statoil's Stena Carron in Angola?
Statoil has released this drillship this month only half way a 3 year contract.
I hope that this heli company has the same kind of contract as Stena. Stena cashes a 350 million penalty from Statoil which is exactly half of the (original) 700 million contract. Not to bad.

Well.....! Since the geography of the thread is moving west. What's the latest on Helicopter contracts in Nigeria with the likes of Bristow/ CHC(Atlantic)/ Caverton. The views so far are that Nigeria is a producer hence no such instability- for now at least..!! Thinning out of approx 80 Helicopters servicing the offshore industry will be a shake to say the least.

Jeremy Parkin...naive? Deliberately provocative or mischievous in the name of journalism? Maybe he needs to research what is required to export aircraft regarding registration documentation before declaring things illegal so publically? oh well....

I couldn't help noticing that! I seem to recall Marseilles - Ibiza - Tangier was quite manageable in one day, maybe they had a headwind....:p

What's the rush to get them home....? Enjoy the ferry home. I sure have a few times in the past with stop overs lasting a little longer....

I thought the Helihub article was very poor and it makes me take anything written by people supposedly in the know with even more of a pinch of salt.

The aircraft were leased by Everett but are owned by a division of Bristow and from what I hear the 2 which were ferried to UK will be used for SAR while some shortfalls in the fleet are covered.

Also, the SAR aircraft is still being crewed, though I'm told the crewing and continuation training have been reduced. At least one of the aircraft is in Aberdeen already. I wonder if the colour scheme will be changed - I think it looks very smart as it is :ok:

The oil finds which Statoil made off Tanzania are huge, but with elections due in October and the present oil price, I think it will be another 6 - 9 months before much of anything happens in Tanzania again. I think they only stayed on as long as they did because Bristow ere bidding on the ENI contract which CHC had in Mozambique. When they didn't get it there were rumours that they'd go to Nigeria initially

It's a fact that the registrations aren't listed on the TCAA site (unlike the remaining aircraft) so it does seem a little premature to have removed them.

The two aircraft being ferried are 5H-EXT and 5H-EXU.
A screenshot of the Tz register from today clearly shows them still on the register- perhaps facts need checking more carefully!!

I can categorically state that when I looked at it (this morning and yesterday), the other two aircraft were not listed and it would appear that was the case when Helihub looked too. Maybe we are both blind....

Agreed, they were not there earlier.

Maybe someone has been in touch with the Tanzanian CAA and pointed out the mistake.

And before I too get branded as "provocative and mischievous", note that I am not saying who made the mistake or indeed if a mistake was actually made :E
