Everett Aviation East Africa announce multi-year contract with Statoil in Tanzania

Norwegian energy producer, Statoil, has awarded a multi-year contract for helicopter services to Everett Aviation in Tanzania.

According to a statement released to The Guardian yesterday, Everett will lease three new AW139 helicopters from a major operator in support of Statoil’s drilling operations offshore Tanzania and Mozambique whereby two aircrafts will be used for crew change work whilst the third will be a high specification, dedicated, search and rescue aircraft.

Simon Everett, CEO of Everett Aviation said: “This is a significant win for Everett and a further step in the company’s business expansion and focus on the oil and gas industry offshore East Africa. We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide services to Statoil and to continue our provision of offshore helicopter services in East Africa.”

He said his company is committed to the development of the local helicopter industry and will shortly be selecting a group of Tanzanian pilots who will be sent for training at the Bristow Flight Academy in the USA for a Commercial Helicopter Licence. Everett believes this will bring significant benefits to the project and the long term development of the local industry.

The Company will be expanding their existing base in Dar es Salaam with the construction of a new 2,300m2 hangar plus offices and workshops to be ready in January.

Rumours suggest that this currently US registered AW139 recently off the assembly line in Philadelphia, may be the first of the three 139's destined for Everett's new offshore contract with Statoil (see post above):

And it looks identical to the colour scheme on the AW139 at the top of their website:

I worked next door to these guys a couple of years ago, I had a wander over and introduced myself and they seem like a good bunch of guys, the ones I met anyway.
They get to do some interesting jobs. I'm sure I often saw their aircraft on top of one of the hotels in Dar. :)

That'll be the Holiday Inn.

Well it would be about 3 hrs quicker to the Holiday Inn by helicopter than by car. Bloody awful place to live!

TZ/ Mozambique contract

This is a peculiar one. Everett has announced that they've won the contract.....And... Similarly Bristow have announce that they've won the same contract with statoil. What's the real deal?? Or have Bristow bought Everett....

Que Ondas wae?

Bristow have gone in with a local partner to bid the contract. Everett already have an AOC to operated in TZ. As the press release in Aug stated they will dry lease 3 x 139 from Bristow. With work coming up in other east Africa regions this bid model could be very successful in other areas. Lets wait and see!!

Certification

Starlite Aviation have also recently gain an AOC to operate in TZ so local as well as international operators will make bidding very competitive in the next few years.

Hello.
Somebody told me Statoil some days ago cancelled Everett/Bristow's contract giving 45 days notice.
Three brand new AW139 aircrafts operated there, 20 people pilots and engineers.
Is that a confirmed news?

If yes god bless the colleagues working there! :yuk:

helimutt 27th Dec 2014 17:48

I also heard from someone in the know that Statoil will not require Everett/Bristow services from the end of January. Oil price is starting to bite the offshore industry.
