Well done again guys, with the tranny gone and smoke in the cockpit you got it safely down. Things can go wrong and as pilots we all hope that when our time comes to be tested we can make the right choices and enjoy another day.

Of course - that's how I got home in January. The last crew came home by car though

I thought this type was put forward for "The President's choice".....surely these transmission reliability worries put that in some slight doubt..... :confused:

Yeah come on spill the beans. It would be very interesting - especially for those, like me, who are also flying this machine every day, and have heard absolutely zip about any incident!

OK, just saw the release from Sikorsky yesterday when I went into work, so maybe I spoke too soon. Good work getting down, and a bit more realism for a line training flight!
Lets hope this isn't a trend, as I dont fancy ditching too much in the North Sea, without Sea State 6 floats wired up yet.

If you're a smoker, maybe take a spare pack of fags with you, and perhaps a thermos flask - will be good for moral as you bob about in your life raft!

Heard a rumour that the chc 92 in ABZ might be relocating! Apache offer'd something else.
