Ned, thanks for the compliment.
Don't know why, but it never came out as large as I intended. Story of my life. |

Nice pics, Beaune is part of my route from Belgium to South of France... Close to Pouilly, in Semur-en-Auxois (about 10NM NW), their is a chambre d'hote (also small castle). The owner is a R44 pilot. Is the Pouilly place OK ? d3 |

Thanks for the pic of the SK on Sir Tristram. I remember it well, in fact the Squadron gave me another pic of the trial when I left. I also did the last flight of Doris, off to Farnborough to be used for engineering training or something. Cheers Steve |
Hello Steve.
Speaking of memories, I do still recall well the response from an EPNER trained tp to a very green FTO in the LHS of a SHOL trial aircraft who, having completed taking data alongside, had asked him to "Translate across now, please". "à travers", indeed  :D :D I last saw Doris looking sorry for herself in the Farnborough Flying Club hangar several years ago. I wonder if she's still there? |
Another pic of Sir Tristram. This one from the driving seat of a Wessex 5 in June 82

Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, the Chateau Saint Sabine is OK. Rooms start at 55 Euros. Dinner from 30 Euros plus wine. Good food and a superb wine list. I saw the small castle you mention. It looked very impressive from the air. Just in case you decide to go to the chateau, here's a picture showing the helipad. http://chste-sabine.ifrance.com/gene1.jpg The picture (provided by the hotel) is a little misleading because the pad is hidden by tall trees on the approach. You can just see the tops in the bottom right of the picture - and they've grown since. You'd obviously do a high recce first, so no problem. |

Thx
I am back in the south, will have a look at the castle probably next sunday D3 |

I went to an airshow at Blenheim recently and saw a fabulous display by an amazing helicopter pilot called David Kenion.
I didn't take these pics but one of our group got hold of them so I thought I'd share them. I'm a new fixed-wing PPL and don't know anything about flying helicopters but the awesome display put a whole new complexion on helicopters for me!
